This British Musical Fidelity A1 amplifier, manufactured using direct-printing technology, features a pure Class A design, a meticulously optimized dual-mono layout, single-point star grounding, a custom-designed shielded high-performance 120W toroidal transformer, 40,000μF of Japanese-imported Rubycon filter capacitors, a fully discrete component amplification circuit, selected power transistors of the same model as the original amplifier, Japanese-imported ALPS potentiometers and power switches, and a high-performance all-aluminum alloy chassis with excellent heat dissipation. It delivers 25W per channel (equivalent to 75W for a Class AB amplifier) at 8 ohms and 60W per channel (equivalent to 180W for a Class AB amplifier) at 4 ohms. The sound is relaxed and natural, particularly excelling in the mid-low frequencies, which are full and engaging; the timbre is warm, vibrant, and delicate, without sacrificing resolution and dynamic range. The sound is exceptionally smooth across all three frequency ranges, with high density in the mid-low frequencies and powerful vocal impact. The high-frequency roll-off is slightly faster, effectively eliminating sibilance in poorly recorded vocals. Soundstage reproduction and positioning are very accurate.
Product Introduction
Product Description
The A1 circuit was originally designed in 1982 by the late British audio genius Tim de Paravicini. Its prototype was an experimental circuit Tim built on a breadboard, aiming to achieve the same sound quality as a vacuum tube amplifier using a transistor amplifier circuit.
The A1 is an integrated amplifier with a pure Class A circuit design, boasting a warm, sweet tone and excellent musicality. While its 25W per channel output isn’t particularly high, its superior design and powerful current output are sufficient to drive home bookshelf speakers or small floorstanding speakers, delivering outstanding sound quality.
Since 2009, we have conducted over 15 years of in-depth research into the circuit design of the British Fax A1 amplifier. Today, we have mastered its essence, and it is no exaggeration to say that our A1 amplifier possesses the best sound quality in its class! We’ve launched the A1
Back in 2011, we introduced the A1 amplifier, whose exceptional sound quality quickly earned market recognition. Today, we proudly introduce the all-new A1 amplifier, upholding the original design philosophy of Mr. Tim de Paravicini. The new A1 amplifier features a meticulously optimized dual-mono layout, a star-shaped single-point grounding design, and is equipped with precision-crafted modern high-performance electronic components. It achieves new heights in distortion, channel separation, and signal-to-noise ratio, fully showcasing the characteristics of the A1 circuitry. The new A1 amplifier possesses extraordinary musicality, a realistic and immersive soundstage, a warm, delicate, and airy timbre, and a profound emotional expression, allowing listeners to be completely immersed in the music, delivering an unforgettable and impactful experience.
